Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

You are the University of Missouri’s most important resource, and your personal and professional well-being is critical to achieving our shared mission.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a continuum of tools, resources and counseling services to support emotional wellness, the ability to successfully handle life’s stresses and to adapt to change and difficult times (building resilience, reducing stress, getting quality sleep, strengthening social connections, coping with loss, and being mindful). The EAP offers free, short-term, confidential counseling sessions for employees (faculty and staff) and their household members.

Optum Live and Work Well (systemwide)

Optum's Live and Work Well program offers experienced consultants available 24/7 at no cost for support, guidance and resources to help you navigate small questions and big problems related to a range of issues, including:

  • Stress, anxiety and depression
  • Relationship problems
  • Grief and loss
  • Parent and family issues

When you speak to a consultant, you'll receive immediate help or be directed to a network provider. Optum EAP provides up to three sessions (per presenting issue) with an experienced consultant for each issue or problem at no cost to you. The benefit renews each calendar year.

Optum’s digital support tools also provide self-help programs and resources specific to your needs.
